IAHV Volunteer Positions
The mission of the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) is to contribute towards a sustainable and inclusive peace by promoting and supporting the development of human values in individuals and societies on a global scale.

IAHV is an international volunteer-based organization with branches in about 20 countries. IAHV UK is currently recruiting self-driven volunteers for two of its programs which are among the most innovative and promising in their fields:

 

• IAHV Peacebuilding (www.peaceunit-iahv.org) : aims to increase the impact of international peacebuilding efforts by working effectively with the hearts, minds and attitudes of people in conflict zones and as such lays the psycho-social foundation for sustainable peace.

• Prison SMART UK/Europe (www.prisonsmart.eu) : unique rehabilitation program for prisoners that aims to break the cycle of violence in society by effectively changing the minds, attitudes and behavior of prisoners. Benefited 250.000+ prisoners and staff in 50+ countries.

Fundraising Support Manager (volunteer position)
IAHV Peacebuilding and Prison SMART programs

The Fundraising Support Manager shares responsibility for ensuring that IAHV’s annual fundraising goal for its PB / PS programs is achieved by:

•    Contributing to the development of a detailed fundraising strategy to meet financial goals
•    Research and identify new grant funding proposals, potential donors, sponsors
•    Cultivate new donors such as individuals, companies, trusts, foundations and governmental agencies
•    Developing and executing a comprehensive donor communications strategy
•    Support the preparation of project proposals and grant applications
•    Support and coordinate the organization of local fundraising activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Able to work in a team.
•    Good writing and communication skills in native level English
•    Demonstrated self-driven initiative, creativity and perseverance when faced with obstacles
•    Passion for IAHV’s mission and the PB / PS projects
•    Proven experience and insight in fundraising strategies for the non-profit sector, including corporate and individual donor funding
•    Native level English oral and written communication skills
•    Web-based communications experience with knowledge of Wordpress, social media channels and networks such as Facebook, RSS and Twitter
•    Strong customer service focus and attitude
•    Concern for detail and accuracy, with a professional and efficient approach
•    Experience with institutional grant/proposal writing


Location: Globally. Based in London/UK or Belgium is a plus.

Time commitment: flexible, minimum 4 hrs / week

Duration: 1 year minimum



Communications Support Manager(s) (volunteer position)
IAHV Peacebuilding and Prison SMART programs

The Communications Support Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organization and implementation of the communication strategies for the PS / PB project. It’s a new position and therefore, there will be many opportunities to get creative and demonstrate leadership.  The Communications Support Manager must be a high-energy and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for IAHV’s mission.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Plan, organize and implement overall communication strategies for the PS / PB project, including goals, activities, materials, and performance indicators
•    Oversee digital communications, including the content for the website, social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and e-newsletters
•    Draft news and feature press releases, e-newsletter articles, web content and social media announcements.
•    Create and implement the year’s communication’s calendar
•    Support outreach efforts towards press, general public, potential partners and professionals in the field
•    Research and collect information and case studies on IAHV’s global PS / PB work
•    Support and facilitate the development of PR materials such as brochure, videos etc
•    Research other non-profits to learn best communications and social media practices we can implement
•    Support special events, as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Able to work in a team.
•    Good writing and communication skills in native level English.
•    Demonstrated self-driven initiative, creativity and perseverance when faced with obstacles.
•    Passion for IAHV’s mission and the PB / PS projects.
•    Experience with outreach to different audiences (corporate sector, public sector, professionals, general public, clients, partners, press,…).
•    Well organized and able to work independently and remotely.
•    Good computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, etc.)
•    Interest and proficiency in social media – especially Facebook and Twitter – and familiarity with other web technologies such as Dropbox, simple web design, blogging, etc.
•    Must have access to the equipment and computer applications necessary to complete the indicated projects.
•    Knowledge and proficiency in graphic design a plus.
Location: Globally. Based in London/UK or Belgium is a plus.
